Restaurant New Bombay is a family owned Indian food and authentic two-location ambience.
Since 1 May 2016, we have been serving our guests in Basel directly on the Rhine (near the Unispital) and, since 1 April 2017, in the old town of Zurich, on the Predigerplatz in Niederdorf. At both locations we have a classic restaurant and also offer take-away and caterers.
With fresh and local ingredients, North Indian specialties are on the menu such as Tandoori Chicken or Vegi Thali. Upon request, our food is also vegan and gluten-free available.
New Bombay in Basel – look at the Rhine
The restaurant New Bombay in Basel with 60 seats inside and 25 seats on the terrace is located directly on the Rhine. Near the Unispital (Tram Stop Unispital) you have an unforgettable and unobstructed view over the Rhine. On the 1st of August you can see the fireworks at close range, as it is detonated directly in front of the restaurant in the Rhine. The building is historic, but modern inside.

Really good Indian food, friendly service. Interior looks very good and clean. Many vegetarian option, some possible to make vegan. My personal fav was Restaurant New Bombay. Definitely coming back.
